"Cheeky"
Cheeky was handed in by a member of the public and Roz wasn't sure she would survive the night.  She had suffered head trauma and was having such difficulty breathing, her sides were caving in from the effort.  She had so much swelling around her nose and jaw that little to no air was able to get through.  Even anti-inflammatories did little to relieve the pain and swelling.  Roz put her on oxygen and cared for her through the night.  She pulled her through but had many more days and nights of the same.  She had breaks to her cheek bone, massive hematomas in her nasal passages and fractures near the hinge of her jaw which were not repairable surgically.  Because she had trouble breathing and the pain in her jaw, it was impossible for her to eat on her own.  Roz used a combination of Critical Care and milk slurry every few hours to get the amount of nutrition into Cheeky that was needed.  Over many weeks and sleepless nights, she finally began eating a few things that weren't liquified on her own and her breathing slowly began to improve.  It was only small amounts at first but every little bit was a step in the right direction.  She still has a ways to go but she is now outside in a big pen with a buddy and doing very well.
